USA and Poland race to stay unbeaten


· Poland clinched a straight-sets victory over USA in their only previous World Cup match in 2011.
· USA have won five of their last six matches against Poland in major competitions, including the third/fourth place match in this year's World League (3-0).
· Poland's only win in this run of six matches was 3-2 victory in the World League in 2015.
· Poland still lead the head-to-head with USA in all major tournaments with 17 wins and 15 defeats.
· USA won four of the five 2015 World League meetings this year.
· En route to their world title in 2014, Poland lost one match, 3-1 against USA in the second round.

United States
· United States are still unbeaten in this World Cup. On Friday, They defeated Tunisia 3-0 and now have won six matches in straight sets this World Cup campaign.
· Their record of most 3-0 victories in one World Cup campaign is eight set in 1995.
· United States can break their team record of eight consecutive wins in the World Cup set in 1977-1985. 
· The 1985 edition was USA's only entire unbeaten World Cup year.
· USA lost their last World Cup match in Tokyo, against Serbia in 2011 (3-0).

· Poland are still unbeaten at the 2015 World Cup. Only United States are also unbeaten.
· Poland have won their last eight World Cup matches, which is already a team record.
· They have lost the first set in four of their eight matches this World Cup.
· The last time Poland won at least eight consecutive competitive matches was between September 2014 and June 2015, when they won their last seven 2014 World Championship matches followed by their first four in the 2015 World League.
· Poland's last three World Cup matches in Tokyo have all gone into a fifth set, of which they lost their last two (against Brazil and Russia in 2011).
