The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup Japan 2015 will take place from September 8-23. The winners and runners-up in the twelve-team competition will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Hosts Japan will be joined by two teams from each continent and by 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship winners Poland.
Event hosts Brazil are automatically qualified for the Olympics in 2016 and will not participate in the 2015 edition of the World Cup.
The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup will be played at six venues across Japan: Hiroshima Green Arena, Hamamatsu Arena, Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium, Toyama City Gymnasium, Yoyogi National Stadium First Gymnasium - Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
The first round matches will take place in Hiroshima and Hamamatsu and the twelve teams participating in the competition will be split across the two venues. Japan, Italy, USA, Australia, Canada and one of the two teams from the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) - CAVB2 - will play in Hiroshima. Hamamatsu will play hosts to Russia, Poland, Argentina, Iran, Venezuela and CAVB1.
