Captain - Javier Filardi

Javier Filardi started playing volleyball at age nine at the Banco de Cordoba Volleyball club in Argentina. He played for the Argentina national team that finished second at the 2009 South American Championship in Bogota, Colombia, and for the team that was ninth at the 2010 World Championship in Italy. Filardi was a member of the national squad that finished fifth in the 2009 and 2010 World League competitions. He played for Argentina in 2014 when they were equal fifth in the World League and 11th in the World Championships. In 2015 he captained the team to third in Group 2 in the World League.

In May 2014, the outside hitter was appointed captain of Argentina, despite not having played for his country for more than four years. He said it wasn't a responsibility that weighed too heavily upon him, as he has belief in his ability and enough experience to carry the team forward.

Star Player - Facundo Conte

Facundo Conte took up volleyball at an early age after he and his sisters followed their parents into the sport. Both of Conte's parents played volleyball at international level and his father Hugo won a bronze medal at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games. Facundo played beside his father in the Serie A2 in Argentina, which is something he describes as a "dream come true" for the pair.

Conte made his international debut for Argentina in 2008, and in 2011 received the Silver Olympia Award as Argentina's player of the year. The dynamic outside hitter was in the Argentina squad that finished second at the 2011 South American Championship in Cuiaba, Brazil, and also played at the London 2012 Olympic Games. He also featured at the 2010 World Championship, where he was the fifth highest scorer, and at the 2011 World Cup.

Conte has been a part of the Argentina national team for numerous World League campaigns, and was the third highest scorer at the 2011 tournament. He missed the 2013 edition after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder. In the 2015 edition he was the second top scorer for Argentina, who finished third in Group 2.
