Captain - David Lee

David Lee made his international debut for the United States in 2005. He was part of the US team that won silver at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, then gold at the 2008 World League and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He ranks the latter as his best achievement in the sport and is aiming to repeat that feat at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Should he make it to Rio, it will be his third Olympic appearance as he was also part of US team that finished fifth at London 2012. More recently he was integral to the United States’ victory in the 2014 World League in which he was named Best Blocker in the tournament. One year later he captained the side to a bronze medal in the World League.

At club level he has played for teams in China, France, Indonesia, Italy, Portugal, Russia and Turkey. He studied human movement at the California State University in Long Beach, United States.

Star Player - Matt Anderson

Matt Anderson started playing volleyball at age 14 at high school in West Seneca, NY, United States. He was named the 2008 AVCA Co-Player of the Year and the Most Outstanding Player of the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament. He received the 2013 US Male Indoor Player of the Year award and was named 2012 US Male Indoor Player of the Year.

Anderson played with the US team at the 2011 NORCECA Championship in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where they finished second, and at the 2013 NORCECA Championships in Langley, BC, Canada, which they won. Anderson was named Most Valuable Player at the Langley tournament and was also named in the All-Star team. He was part of the US team that finished fifth at the London 2012 Olympic Games, where he was the youngest player in the team at age 25. He was the leading scorer and named Best Spiker at the NORCECA Men's Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament for those Games. Most recently he was part of the US team that finished third in Group 1 at the 2015 World League.

He suffered from pneumonia in 2009 and had to withdraw from the USA's tour of Brazil after playing five matches.
