Italy coach Gian Lorenzo Blengini: "I'm satisfied with the game. I'm satisfied with the result. We knew Iran was strong. We knew we had to focus and have a good start. We knew we had to be calm against them. In the middle of the match Iran came back. I changed players then to help change the mood. We went on and did our best."

Iran coach Slobodan Kovac: "We did not play good volleyball. We did not follow our game plan tonight. We did not get enough attacks. We attacked better against Argentina. It was different today against Italy. I'm not satisfied. I'm not sure what happened today."

Italy captain Simone Buti: "We had to focus because we knew the Iran team was strong from their results here. The first set was good for us. The second set was not. We did not receive well. It was point by point in the second set. We managed to get through the third set. and win. Iran does something different every game which makes it a challenge to play them."

Iran captain Mir Saeid Marouflakrani: "It was a good match. We played good volleyball. We touched many balls on our block. We had a problem with our counterattack. In the third set we played better, but unfortunately we lost the mtach. We did serve good today."
