Poland defeat France in Wagner Cup

 

Poland defeated France in their third match of the weekend

Torun, Poland, August 25, 2015 - Poland's third and final match in the 13th Wagner Cup saw the hosts defeat recent FIVB Volleyball World League winners France 3-2 (25-27, 19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 15-13).

The world champions' victory on Monday was their third in the competition after wins against Japan and Iran on Saturday and Sunday.

France, who began the competition with a victory against Iran before losing to Japan, will not be participating in the 2015 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup, but the three other teams participating in the Wagner Cup - Poland, Iran and Japan - will soon be travelling to Japan where they will compete for a berth at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
