Blengini looks ahead after Italy defeats Venezuela

Osaka, Japan, September 18, 2015 - Italy coach Gian Lorenzo Blengini said his team had worked on a plan to navigate through difficult moments in matches, and it worked flawlessly today as they beat Venezuela.

Italy coach Gian Lorenzo Blengini: "I'm happy that we could win three straight games here. We had some difficult times but recovered. We have built a strategy to get us through difficult times and it worked today. Venezuela was excellent in both serve and attack. We hope to do well in the coming matches. We would like to play the next three games one at a time. We expect the next three teams to have a high level, so we will have to play accordingly."

Venezuela coach Vincenzo Nacchi: "We were hoping to play better here. We played good at times against Italy like we did against Japan but could not win. We will try to do better in the future. I talked with the players about how we have to stabilize in the last points of the sets."

Italy captain Simone Buti: "We are happy for the win. We have won three in a row here which will good for us going into Tokyo. The third set wsw tight but we were able to win in the end."

Venezuela captain Kervin Pinerua: "Italy played well. It was a tough match. We had many chances but could not capitalize on them."

Venezuela player Hector Mata: "Strategically they were better than us. We have room to grow."
