Rhythm key to victory says Lee

Lee added that it is always a challenge playing neighbours Canada

Hiroshima, Japan, September 10, 2015 - USA captain David Lee said his team are steadily improving as they picked up a third win of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup Japan 2015 on Thursday.

USA coach John Speraw: We are very happy with the win. It's always a challenge when we play Canada. It is always hard to prepare for them. They have four good outside hitters and two good setters. We hope to continue improving over the course of the tournament.

Canada coach Glenn Hoag: They played well. Every game is difficult in a tournament like this. They had good serves and a quick offense. Our block has to get better. I thought our offense was OK. They are one of the best read block teams in the world. We hope to improve and do better match-by-match. Gavin Schmitt has some physical issues that prevent us from playing him every game. He has issues with his leg, back and hip. We have to manage the use of our players.

USA captain David Lee: It was another good match. We have had a good tournament from the service line. I think we got Canada out of rhythm. We got good performances from several of our players. It's good when our bench can contribute. We served lights out and it is hard to compete with us when we serve like that.

Canada captain Frederic Winters: This was a bad game by us. We didn't show a lot of heart. They took us out of our game. They are a good team and we are not on their level. We have to focus on the rest of our matches. We have had some OK performances here but today was not good.
